Last night I dreamt that I did something with someone which I never thought I would do. Never with this person anyway.
It was smokin’! It was hawt! It was one of the best experience I have ever had!! It was totally different from what I had ever done before. And to do with it this person was, to put it mildly, brilliant!!
Aahh.. how I wish my dream could become reality…
BTW, I was reading this book before I fell asleep.

What??!! We cooked together. Or rather he taught me how to cook. In his gorgeous commercial kitchen next to his house. Let me tell you, in my dreams he is nothing like what you see in Hell’s Kitchen. Gentle, passionate, confident.. wish he could come around and cook with me every day. His weakness? Cars – the bigger and faster the better. Let me share with you a short excerpt from his book:
“The smell of leather gives me as big a hard-on as the sound of the V12 under the bonnet. The willingness of this sex on wheels to do exactly as you command within a nanosecond of your foot pushing pedal to the metal, and the added purr of pleasure from your new partner, confirm your passion as the fuel explodes somewhere deep in the white hot powerhouse.“
A man who cooks and drives fast cars… mmmmm… dreamy…
I was looking through my photo archives, and realised that we hardly have any photos taken with the relatives. I have more photos of my failed cooking experiments than those of my children with their grandparents!!
When we were still in the same country, we never bothered taking photos whenever we met up unless it was for special occasions like weddings, birthdays, etc. (come to think of it, relatives far and near do come together during funerals but that hardly seems like the right time say ‘cheese’, eh?). I remember I used to enjoy bringing out my childhood photos and seeing cousins, uncles and aunties in a different era. Relatives whom we hardly see anymore because everyone is now scattered all over the country. Uncles and aunties whom we will never see anymore because they have moved on. In this age of digital photography where photo opportunities are practically limitless, we should be taking pictures whenever we meet up with family. Especially now when the kids don’t get to see members of our extended family whenever we like.
I was making some calls back home a few days ago, catching up with our parents and my godparents. It tugged on my heartstrings to realise that age was catching up with everyone as they half-complained that they are not spring chickens anymore and that travelling can be hazardous as they may fall and injure themselves seriously. Not long ago they were the ones who was taking care of us, making sure we were well-fed and out of harm’s way. It’s distressing that they are in their twilight years and we may not have that much more time with them anymore. I get very fearful whenever I get a phonecall from home, especially when it comes in an odd hour. I worry that it may be bringing bad news and I fear that I cannot make it home in time. Sigh…
There is so much I want to do when I get home. Besides eating. Actually the best thing would be to eat with the family, don’t you think? 3-5 meals a day for an entire month – that gives at least 150 chances to sit down together. I’m sure that is time enough to snap photos with entire clan, yes?
*cheers up*
A really quick post here! Will come back later to reply to all the previous comments! Thank you so much for all your wishes! So busy until my greeting is just one long sentence with no punctuation!!
What a whirlwind of activity since I resumed chauffering duties! mrkat has been very happy to relinquish his car to me, and this being the first time I am driving an automatic (I have always believed that automatic cars are never as powerful as manuals, but that was before I drove a 2.4l car..), it is an absolute joy to be able to drive with just one hand and one foot..
So what do we have in store for the Year of the Rat? Well first of all, we started with two..
..which soon quickly multiplied to 6!
So I guess it is going to be a bountiful year for us then!
Firstly, I would like to wish everyone a very HAPPY NEW YEAR of 2008! May all of you be blessed with good health, peace and contentment.
Genies have been flying around offering wishes (I say offering because I don’t know whether those wishes have been granted or not!). Not surprisingly, these genies showed up on my blogstep a long while back, courtesy of this Asianised yank, seeing that I am now in the land where flying carpets and genies have originated from!

You know, there is a lot that one can do to change the world. You don’t need to worry about what other people say or do. You don’t have to perform great feats or preach to big crowds. All you have to do is change yourself and be responsible for what you say and do. If you say you are going to do something, do it. If you are going to do something, do it properly. That’s it. It’s as simple as that. And if you take care of yourself, the world will take care of itself.
For the year of 2008, kat wishes for everyone to take responsibility for their actions and words.

I have observed that many popular bloggers connect with their readers in a positive way. You enjoy reading what they write as you feel they are genuine in wanting to share part of their life with you. And they are always gracious and polite in replying to comments, whether they agree with you or not.
I would love to invoke that kind of reaction from my readers and make them feel welcomed to my blog. Most of the time I try to ask myself, does pointing out something make a positive difference if I say it? If it doesn’t, then don’t say anything (of course that flies out of the window when I want to rant about something or someone but I try to keep that as vague as possible.. *wink*). And it’s always better to be kind than right. And it would be an honour if someone feels good after reading my posts, so hopefully my tip works!
kat’s blogging tip.. no make that my New Year resolution (no, I don’t wish to lose weight.. I like to make sure my resolutions are kept! *grin* ) would be..
26. Be sincere and genuine in your postings, be gracious in your comments, and most of all, be kind.
Have a lovely day all, and thank you for stopping by!
Many many many many moons ago, I got tagged by mudpie and ahmay on this (it was so many moons ago that I think they have forgotten they had ever tagged me!!) :
The rules:
1. Go to www.popculturemadness.com
2. Pick the year you turned 18
3. Get yourself nostalgic over the songs of the year
4. Write something about how the song affected you
5. Pass it on to 5 more friends
I am not a fan of pop songs, and most of the time the chart-toppers are never my favourite ones. Here are the few which I am familiar with:
Ice Ice Baby – Vanilla Ice
When I first listened to it, I did not know it sampled a Queen song. When I heard the Queen version, I thought it was the Vanilla Ice version. Recently, when I heard the Vanilla Ice version, I thought it was the Queen version… O.o
Vogue – Madonna
The theme song for catwalk shows then. I remember those days whenever there were any school functions like Interact/Leo Club Night or Scout/Girl Guide Campfire, one of the favourite on the program list were fashion shows and this song was always in the repertoire. Everyone loved strutting in fashionable clothes in the school hall!!
Blaze Of Glory – Jon Bon Jovi
I don’t like rock songs but this is one of the very few rock songs I like even today. Doesn’t hurt that JBV is so dishy…
Vision Of Love – Mariah Carey
I love Mariah’s vocals here. I think it’s her best, even up till today.
Because I Love You (The Postman Song) – Stevie B
There used to be a guy I had a crush on in college. I thought he looked like Anthony Wong Chau Sang (the HK actor). We exchanged phone numbers (those days where got internet access and YM/MSN?) and regularly had porridge (of the telecommunication kind..). Thing is, we seldom talked in college, and had gone out maybe once or twice. Our porridge sessions were more regular. During one of such sessions, this song came on the radio and he dedicated it to me. Laam sei lorr that time!!
After a while, he gave my number to his room-mate (WTF??) and suddenly I had 2 porridge buddies. He would call me, chat a while and then pass the phone over to his roomie. This room-mate of his was a part-time DJ and it was good fun talking to such a ‘good-looking’ voice over the phone. He liked talking to me for some reason and after a while, Anthony look-a-like stopped calling me. Mr DJ and I carried on the porridge sessions and later we met up and became friends. I can’t for the life of me remember how we lost contact. I guess I left college and he moved on too. *ponders a while*
Anyway, whenever I hear this song I will always remember these 2 guys and the strange relationship that never was!!
The weird and wacky things we do in our teenage lives. I always tell mrkat, there is nothing my kids can do which I didn’t do during my teenage years. But that’s another story for another day…
Hellooooo all! Thank you for your kind wishes!! Yes, I am well now. Had to be. Needed to get well enough to go back to school. Driving school that is! Unfortunately msian license is not recognised, and cannot be transferred, hence have to attend Theory Training Programme! So I have been busy attending classes. It was a good refresher course, managed to learn something new too!
I will take my practical driving test next month/year, so hopefully I can resume my chauffeuring duties by February 2008! My first time driving a left-handed automatic car… on the right side of the road… shouldn’t be too difficult, ya? At least I don’t have to sit for parking and slope test!! Wish me luck!!
Hope to have a little bit more time to visit my blogging friends before the year ends! Miss you lots!! Take care!
*muaks & hugs*
